Topic: Innovative Materials in Architecture and in Design
Tereza Anderlová is currently working as a materials consultant at matériO Prague. Her main area of interest is glass, materials suitable for prototypes and new trends in the glass industry.
After her glassmaking studies in Kamenický Šenov, she completed her Master’s programme at the Studio of Glass Design at Tomas Bata University in Zlín, the Czech Republic.
During the studies, she participated in the Bite Me Milan project at the 2013 Milan Design Week in Italy. She won the 2013 International Junior Glass Match held in Karlovy Vary, the CR, with her Bachelor work entitled “Pure Blood”. In 2015 she received an Honorable Mention for her work “Hot glass...Taste fragile“ at the International Student Exhibition in San José in the US. Her work was nominated twice at the International Exhibition of Glass, Kanazawa, Japan.
In 2015 she participated in the student category of the International Glass Symposium (IGS) in Nový Bor in the CR. During her university studies, she also completed a one year's research fellowship in Luca School of Arts in Ghent, Belgium. She also collaborated as a volunteer guide for Open House Prague 2016/7 and as a volunteer for "Ukliďme Česko, ukliďme svět" - Let’s clean up the Czech Republic, let’s clean up the world.
She is currently teaching a two-semester course in Materiology at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. This course is organized by matériO Prague and she gives lectures on the topic of glass and on sustainable materials.
She is responsible for inspirational lectures and the matériO showroom at matériO Prague. She also looks after the matériO bookstore and the materials book library called Šumná Bibliothéka. In addition to the above, she contributes to the online and print version of Material Times magazine that focuses on materials, crafts, creators, architecture and technology.
