Alex is an award-winning strategist specializing in research-based consulting. He has provided counsel to presidents, prime ministers and other high-level political clients in more than 70 campaigns around the globe. His clients include presidents in Ukraine, Mexico and the Philippines and prime ministers in the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Croatia, and Slovenia. In addition to polling, Alex typically advises on campaign strategy and management, messaging, targeting and field organizing.
In 2014, the American Association of Political Consultants named Alex International Consultant of the Year, and a year later inducted him among its “40 under 40.” He won the Reeds and Goldies awards for his campaign work in 2016. Forbes magazine called him a “campaign magician.” He has co-authored two books, spoken at conferences and taught university courses on campaigns and strategy.
Alex is an expert in a wide range of polling and market research methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative. He has conducted hundreds of studies that dealt with message testing, competitive positioning, brand architecture and audience segmentation. His corporate clients have included numerous Fortune 500 corporations such as Microsoft, P&G, Ford, Comcast and State Farm.
Prior to joining SKDK, Alex spent more than a decade at Penn Schoen Berland, premier communications, and polling firm, most recently as its senior vice president. His earlier professional experience includes journalism and public relations.
Alex is a Fulbright scholar and holds an MA in Political Campaign Management from New York University, an MA in International Relations from Central European University in Budapest, and a BA in the same field from Charles University in Prague.
