Ian Bryan is Czech based Architect with 30 years of experience working in the UK, Latvia and in the Czech Republic. Ian was educated at Birmingham and Edinburgh School of Architecture in the UK and is a British Registered and Czech Authorised practitioner.
Following spells with Scottish and London based practices Ian worked with UK based Jestico + Whiles in their Riga and Prague offices before setting up Ian Bryan Architects (IBA) in Prague in 1997. The practice prides itself in the breadth of its completed portfolio of projects and its belief that its design ‘skillsets’ are transferable, whether these are used for a small interior or a masterplan for a new city quarter.
IBA has been at the forefront in the design of innovative workplace environments in the Czech Republic for Clients such as Deloitte, CBRE, and Oracle. At the other end of the spectrum masterplan designs for a 12-hectare site in Prague envisaged the creation of a new city neighborhood for 10,000 inhabitants. Large scale residential and hotel projects have been completed including the award-winning Docks project revitalising the Vltava riverside in Prague 8.
During his career, Ian has worked with wide-ranging clients, from public bodies such the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, healthcare authorities and charities to private individuals, international corporations, hotels and property developers. This has enabled deep insight into the often contrasting demands of these different client groups.
Ian strongly believes that the architect should be the leader in the building procurement process and that project management is an integral part of any architectural service and fully integrated with the creative design process.
